Systems continuously produce observations, but those observations are often treated as isolated data rather than expressions of changing system behaviour.

Osigak's behavioural-computing research investigates whether behavioural dynamics can be represented as a computational layer: states can be observed, transitions can be characterised and, where the evidence supports it, future behaviour can be studied.

This is a research proposition, not a universal claim. We deliberately test where the proposition works, where it fails and whether the resulting representation transfers beyond the environment in which it was developed.

Our rule is simple: build evidence before building confidence. A failed hypothesis can be valuable if it prevents a much larger investment in the wrong direction.

We do not believe a compelling demonstration is the same thing as a validated technology. Our research programmes separate observation, experiment, evidence and conclusion.

Baseline

Compare the proposed method against appropriate alternatives rather than evaluating it in isolation.

Controls

Use negative controls, permutations or other tests where appropriate to challenge apparent signal.

Out-of-sample

Evaluate beyond the data or conditions used to develop the proposition.

Failure modes

Document where performance degrades, assumptions fail or evidence is insufficient.

Translate technical evidence into a rational next step rather than overstating the result.
